December 5, 2016 (Calgary, Alta.) – Vegetation managers who face problem broadleaf weeds have a new herbicide option for control. OcTTain™ XL is approved for use on industrial sites, railways, roadsides, rights-of-way and rangeland by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency.
OcTTain XL has become a trusted tool to support profitable crop production in western Canada, and now vegetation managers can use it too. It provides effective, economical control of a broad-spectrum of annual broadleaf weeds.
As a Group 4 herbicide, OcTTain XL works through a different mode of action to effectively control hard-to-kill weeds like kochia (including Group 2 and Group 9 resistant kochia), while being safe to grasses.
“OcTTain XLwill provide an effective, economical herbicide solution on rights-of-way and roadsides, where grass health is critical to the success of vegetation management programs,” says Carmen Holding, Specialties Product Manager with Dow AgroSciences. “It will also be an excellent tank mix partner for other available products in bareground applications.”
OcTTain XL was developed by Dow AgroSciences, a leader in vegetation management solutions in Canada. “Dow AgroSciences is committed to providing vegetation managers with a portfolio of product options to support their work. We are pleased to add OcTTain XL as a valued solution to the range of products we currently offer,” says Holding.
